One of the most recognized and celebrated men to ever grace the wrestling ring, Stone Cold’s career spanned twenty years and included 21 championships, as well as an induction to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009. Although he has been retired from active wrestling for several years, Stone Cold remains a well-known figure within the wrestling world and without, having starred in films, as a television host, and even hosts his own weekly podcast, The Steve Austin Show.

Following Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena on the cover of the popular WWE video game series would be considered difficult at best for most members of the wrestling world, but Stone Cold has no doubts about his worthiness to join such company. “No disrespect to the previous and extremely deserving WWE 2K cover Superstars – Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and John Cena – but it’s about time the franchise raised some hell with yours truly on the cover,” said the wrestling star, “I look forward to injecting a dose of ‘Texas Rattlesnake’ into this year’s game and overall campaign.”

WWE 2K16 is the most ambitious iteration of the popular wrestling video game series to date. With 120 playable characters, it has by far and away the largest roster available from a WWE 2K game, and the company has teased that there are a large number of as yet unannounced features. With Stone Cold Steve Austin on the cover and his creative contributions behind the scene, 2K Games is positive that this will be the most exciting WWE 2K experience to date.
