Earning Affinity doesn’t offer much in the way of in-game rewards; however, it is required for certain characters in order to unlock the True Ending. (Be sure to check out our True Ending guide for more details on that.)

Playing through the game normally is sort of a slow way to earn the Affinity you need, though, so you may find yourself inclined to farm for it. Luckily, if you’re willing to put in the time, there are a couple of fairly quick methods you can utilize to easily max out Affinity with any character.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Affinity Guide

Before you can farm Affinity, it’s important to know how to actually check it. To do so, just open the start menu, navigate over to the Community Tab, and click on the Friend List. Find the NPC that you want to check Affinity for and press the Display Stats button. The Affinity level is displayed at the bottom of the first page.

There are up to a maximum of four total Affinity Ranks. An NPC goes up an Affinity Rank once they reach 100% Affinity on their current rank. Once you reach Affinity Rank 4, you may unlock some Pillow Talk scenes, but don’t expect much else.

There are a couple of things you can do in order to quickly raise your Affinity. The first method involves going out into the field and letting your party members die over and over again so that you can revive them. This gives 5% Affinity per Revive. Just remember to turn the Party AI onto Do Not Attack or else they’ll simply kill the enemies you hope will kill them.

Your other option is to run around killing low-level unique enemies in order to get a high bounty. The higher the bounty you come back into town with, the more Affinity you’ll gain. If you’re going out on a long run to hit a bunch of unique enemies, remember to stock up on bullets before you go.

And with that, you shouldn’t have any problems earning the Affinity you need to reach the True Ending. While you’re around, be sure to check out the rest of our Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet guides.
