You will naturally gain access to all companions in the game by completing the main storyline. But this guide will pinpoint at exactly what points you will be able to unlock each of the three companions and more.
How to Unlock All Companions in SoLO
You should be able to unlock the first two companions before reaching Student 1, and later on you will be able to find the third one. They are:
Yilang Li Lingshuang Wu Mang
You can unlock your first companion named Yilang after completing the “Battle in Royal Court IV” quest, where you need to defeat Wuzhao general Wu Yeyu in the Yemo City dungeon, which is your very first game dungeon. Alternatively, you can complete any quest at the Heavenly Ridge Pass area.
Once this quest is done, you need to go back to Wucai Village and report about your job. This will unlock the first battle companion.
In order to unlock the second companion, Li Lingshuang you need to reach level 30 and complete the “Zhongnan Foothills” quest in chapter 6.
The third companion, Wu Mang, can be unlocked after completing the “Jiangdu: Shanghuai Grassland” quest in chapter 9.
How to Summon Companions in SoLO
Once your companions are unlocked, you will be able to summon them to aid you during various quests.
You will notice a summon button over your hot bar that you can click at any point in the game to open the Companions menu. The cooldown between the summons will take about 10-15 minutes of real-time.
If you want to add new companions to your team list, then follow these steps:
Press the Summon Companion button Select the Add Battle Companion option Choose a companion from the list Confirm by pressing Select Press the Start Attack button
However, this method may not work in certain areas and the Summon Companion button will be inactive.
In that case, you need to travel to the closest portal and do the following:
Interact with the portal Click on the Entering Instance option Select the Add Battle Companion option Choose a companion from the list Confirm by pressing Select
This will instantly teleport you to the chosen location with your companion by your side.
During the summoning process you can also choose, which role you want your companion to play:
DPS Tank Healer
Note that companions are primarily designed to aid you in the dungeon quests, so even if you summon them in the field, they will not stay longer than a few minutes around you.
How to Upgrade Companions in SoLO
Your companions will start as basic characters that need to be upgraded regularly to make them stronger. This can be done using special Jixianling elementary fragments.
Each fragment will increase the XP of your companion by 5, and the maximum level for each of your companions is 50.
You’ll be constantly finding these fragments during your normal game sessions, and then you need to do the following:
Go to the “Museum of the Continents” category (bottom right menu) Choose “Companion Recruitment” option Select the companion you wish to upgrade from the list Click the “Upgrade” option Select how many fragments you wish to consume Press Confirm to level up your companion
In the same menu, you can change the role of your companion if you wish to do so at any point in the game.
How to Use Companions in SoLO
The best way to use companions in Swords of Legends Online is to speedrun Drill dungeons in order to quickly farm a lot of XP.
This includes three dungeons that are viable before you reach the Student 1 level:
Yemo City in Wuzhao Nightmare Temple of Mercy Frostbitten Path
You can replay these dungeons as many times as you want until you reach Student 1 level using your companions, who can help you complete these areas extremely quickly.
After that, you need to play with real players (up to 10 per dungeon) in order to clear dungeons with higher levels of difficulty.
That is all you need to know about companions in Swords of Legends Online. If this guide was helpful to you, consider sharing it with your friends.
